James JUN 2022-003.jpg

Chair - Audit and Risk Assurance Committee

James is well known to Trust Management having served on our board from 2013 – 2016. We were disappointed when his Directorship with NZ Guardian Trust meant he needed to step down from our board, and we are delighted that he has returned.

Current Board roles include Perpetual Trust Limited and Anglican Trust Board Services Limited. His previous executive roles included CEO of Tower Insurance’s general insurance company and Managing Director of NZ Guardian Trust.

Having chaired the Trustee Corporation Association and through his role with Perpetual, he has gained a strong understanding of the changing regulatory framework and the roles played by the FMA and Reserve Bank. James is a particularly strategic thinker with an innate marketing mind as well as a natural coaching style.

Ross Bay is the Anglican Bishop of Auckland.

Ross worked for the Bank of New Zealand until beginning theological study in 1986, graduating with a Bachelor of Theology from the Australian College of Theology in 1990.

After a period in the United Kingdom where he gained a post-graduate diploma in theology, Ross returned to New Zealand working as the Vicar of a number of parishes in Auckland. He was appointed Dean of Holy Trinity Cathedral in 2007, and became Bishop of Auckland in April 2010.
