Asset Classes Well Suited to Charities
When developing investment recommendations for clients we do not restrict our consideration to only those asset classes which Trust Management manages in-house. We consider the entire universe of asset classes. Some asset classes are not well suited to charities such as timber and commodities as they pay little or no income and returns are very volatile.
Similarly private equity will only be appropriate for a small number of clients given that this asset class typically has high minimum investment levels.
We use long run data sources to establish the expected risk, return and correlation of each asset class when modelling a range of investment portfolio options for Trustees' consideration.
